Suzanne Manlet Bio

Suzanne was born March 6, 1953, in San Pedro and grew up in Oxnard. She graduated from Hueneme High School in 1971. She earned degrees from Ventura College and California State University, Northridge and began her teaching career in 1975. Suzanne taught at Simi Valley High School for 25 years. She was born to teach and absolutely loved her job.

Suzanne also served as athletic director and junior varsity volleyball coach while at Simi Valley High, but softball was her love. She was an outstanding softball coach and touched so many lives through coaching. Her passion and integrity for the game and the success her teams achieved brought her respect from coaches and players throughout Southern California. Suzanne was recently informed that she will be inducted into the Ventura County Sports Hall of Fame this year.

Suzanne served on many committees including the CIF Southern Softball Committee. Not only was Suzanne a great coach, she was an outstanding player. Softball ran through her. She lived for the game and throughout her life played on many different teams, traveling throughout the country. She was also very involved with the Relay for Life, with the help of Dr. Khalil and his staff, they had great success with getting the word out.

Suzanne had a zest for life. If there was something to celebrate, Suzanne was there! She had so many close friends. Her energy was contagious and her smile filled you up. Her work ethic was incredible. No matter the task, personal and professional, Suzanne set the standard high and worked tirelessly to make sure things were done right.
